• SOCIAL JUSTICE OFFERING today goes to CALIFORNIA RURAL LEGAL ASSISTANCE FOUNDATION. They provide community education, impact litigation and public policy leadership in the areas of worker safety, environmental justice, health, labor, housing, citizenship and education. • Carbon Ring informational meetings Sundays, August 17th and 24th, 12-12:30pm; Thursday, August 21, 7-8pm. Church office conference room. Find out how you can participate in the UULM Low Carbon Challenge and lose 5,000 pounds of CO2 emissions. Patti Potter, or Connie Young.
• The Women's Group will meet with Jo Fox, 1155 E. Bullard, Apt. 214, Fresno, at 10 A.M. on August 16. All church women are welcome. We'll talk about things that stress us out. For information, call Jo at or Betty Ramos
• YRUU Pool Party! For all Youth Group (YRUU) and Youth Group Parents. August 24 12:00 - 3:30. Parents: Please stay to eat and volunteer to host social events for the youth's church year. Bring a potluck dish and your calendars. At Aubree Smith's home.

• TOWN HALL September 21, 2008 at 9 a.m. "Obama or McCain? Implications for the next four years from a historical perspective" by Gary Walker. 20th Century Presidents will be examined and compared to the two candidates. Gary is a native of Los Angeles and 1963 graduate of Occidental College.
• Newcomer Orientation on Sun, Oct 12, 12:30-2pm in the sanctuary. Lunch provided! Please join us for conversation with Bryan Jessup, our minister, and other interested newcomers, regarding the Church and path to membership. Childcare provided. Please RSVP Betty, or the office, 322-6146

• Multifaith Exchange meetings begin in September The Interfaith Youth Alliance will be joining us this year educational meetings about the diverse faiths found in Fresno . Now is the time for both adults and youth to sign up. Linda Mack or Anidelle Flint

• M'ELLA HOUSE NEEDS OUR ASSISTANCE This West Care Program, supported by our church, works with women and children during recovery. This month we have 8 birthday children hoping for age appropriate gifts; 5 children going to Head Start; and three children in elementary school.
