Join a representative from the Central Valley Justice Coalition to learn the realities of exploitation (myths and misconceptions). Learn how to recognize red flags (identifying victims of exploitation) and the role of traffickers and process of recruitment, as well as potential paths to freedom and community resources.

Join Jeri Stubblefield and Teri Sherron from Legal Shield for a presentation and discussion about the importance of organization and preparation of Advance Directoves, POAs for Health Care and Finances, gathering important information and documents, and making sure that someone is appointed as agent for your affairs and knows your wishes. There will also be discussion about identity theft — how it impacts the elder community and what can be done to protect ourselves and our older loved ones with cognitive impairments.

Exploring the Poetry of Mary Oliver

Mary Oliver was one of the great American poets of the twentieth century because her poetry was both accessible and thoughtful. In this gathering we will explore some of her poems and what they mean to each of us. If you have certain favorites, please bring them to share. Bring a lunch and munch while we talk.
